What About Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating?
Many Southwest Florida families also enjoy the traditional door-to-door experience on Halloween night. If you’re planning to visit a neighborhood, check with its community association or local residents for any specific hours, parking rules, or access restrictions.
Look for homes with porch lights on, be respectful of private property, and remember that gated communities may have their own guest policies.
Tips for a Fun Halloween Night
- Make costumes visible. Add reflective tape or bring glow sticks and flashlights if you’ll be out after dark.
- Dress for Florida weather. Lightweight costumes and comfortable shoes can make the evening more enjoyable.
- Bring water. Even late October can feel warm in Southwest Florida!
- Check treats before eating. An adult can look through candy and check for any allergy concerns.
- Watch for traffic. Stay together, use sidewalks when available, and cross at designated crossings.
- Check event pages before leaving. Times, activities, parking, and weather plans may change.
From Fort Myers Beach to Naples and Bonita Springs, there are plenty of opportunities to make Halloween memories close to home. Grab your costumes and candy bags, and have a safe and happy Halloween, Southwest Florida! ??
