Cape Coral’s list of places to eat, shop and spend an afternoon keeps growing. From new coffee stops and waterfront restaurants to a planned Costco and entire districts in development, there is plenty for residents and visitors to follow.
This roundup covers notable recent additions and announced projects. Some are already welcoming customers, while others are still moving through construction or planning.
New and Recent Places to Eat and Drink
Coffee Rush — Now Open
1189 SW Pine Island Road
There is a new stop for the morning commute along Pine Island Road. Coffee Rush’s Cape Coral location is open, adding another drive-thru option for coffee lovers. Its menu includes espresso drinks, cold brew, specialty beverages and breakfast items.
Burrito Shak — Now Open
1200 Solaris Drive, Suite 305
Burrito Shak has brought its first Florida location to the Shops at Del Sol. The restaurant serves burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas and nachos, offering another casual lunch or dinner option near Pine Island Road. It welcomed customers in August and celebrated a grand opening in October.
Una Bella — Now Open
1232 Cape Coral Parkway
Una Bella adds pizza, subs and wings to the South Cape dining lineup. The restaurant opened over the summer in the former Lehne Burger space and celebrated its grand opening October 17. It is another option to keep in mind for an easy dinner close to home.
Swig — Now Open
1121 Solaris Drive
Swig opened its first Cape Coral location in May at the Shops at Del Sol. Known for customizable “dirty sodas,” the drive-thru drink shop gives residents a new place to try flavored soda combinations and sweet treats.
Aqua — Now Open at The Cove at 47th
Aqua brings seafood, steaks and a rooftop Sky Bar to the South Cape. Located at The Cove at 47th, the restaurant adds an option for dinner, celebrations and sunset cocktails. The developer announced its grand opening this spring.
El Jardín — Opened This Year
1019 Cape Coral Parkway East
El Jardín opened in June, bringing a Latin-Japanese dining concept from the team behind OISE Japanese Fusion. It adds another distinctive restaurant to explore along Cape Coral Parkway.
Bimini Basin Seafood & Cocktails — Now Open
At Bimini Square, 440 Cape Coral Parkway East
Waterfront dining is part of the appeal at Bimini Basin Seafood & Cocktails. The restaurant is one of the dining anchors at Bimini Square, combining a meal out with views of the basin and access to the surrounding South Cape district.
House of Omelets at Bimini Square — Now Open
440 Cape Coral Parkway East
House of Omelets is also welcoming guests at Bimini Square. The breakfast and lunch restaurant gives residents another place to meet for a morning meal in the growing waterfront development.
More Recent Additions to Explore
Local restaurant reporting has also highlighted Big Nick’s Barbecue, Sazon To Go, The Dominican Experience, Aroma Joe’s, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Chicken Salad Chick and Nothing Bundt Cakes among Cape Coral’s recent arrivals. Together, these additions broaden the choices for quick meals, coffee, barbecue and dessert.
Mel’s Sunrise Café — A New Chapter for Bread Pete
4402 Del Prado Boulevard
This update will sound familiar to longtime customers: Bread Pete has become Mel’s Sunrise Café. The owners celebrated the new name in October. The café continues serving breakfast, baked goods and sandwiches, making this a refreshed local business rather than a completely new opening.
Waterfront Places to Revisit
Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina — Open
1811 Cape Coral Parkway East
Slipaway is already operating near the Cape Coral Bridge. Food trucks, a central bar, outdoor seating and river views make it a place to consider when a group wants several dining choices in one location. Although it is not a brand-new November opening, it remains part of the Cape’s evolving waterfront scene.
Coming Soon and Major Projects to Watch
Costco — Planned
600 Chiquita Boulevard South
Cape Coral is moving toward getting its first Costco. The city announced plans in October for an approximately 165,000-square-foot warehouse and a fueling facility. An opening date has not been announced, so shoppers will need to watch for construction and company updates.
Daria’s German Restaurant — Under Construction
3571 Del Prado Boulevard North, Suites 13–14
The team behind Daria’s German Bakery & Bistro is developing a full-service restaurant in Entrada Plaza. Plans include breakfast, lunch and dinner, German specialties, a full bar and space for entertainment. In an October interview, the team described a target of opening within two to three months, subject to construction and approvals. A firm opening date remains unannounced.
Cape Coral Grove — Planned Town Center
2301 SW Pine Island Road
Cape Coral Grove is planned as a 131-acre destination with shopping, dining, entertainment, residences and a hotel. The city’s current project page lists infrastructure construction beginning in January 2027, followed by initial building construction in spring or summer 2027. Those are construction targets, rather than dates when stores will open.
Seven Islands — Future Waterfront Destination
The planned Gulf Gateway Resort & Marina Village at Seven Islands would bring restaurants, retail, a hotel, residences and marina amenities to northwest Cape Coral. The development agreement was approved in January 2026. Individual business names and opening dates will need to be confirmed as the project progresses.
Bimini Basin East — Redevelopment to Follow
Bimini Basin East is another major South Cape project to watch. The city’s vision includes retail, dining, public gathering areas and a more walkable connection to surrounding developments. Development agreements were presented at an October 21 public hearing. Specific tenants and opening timelines remain future updates.
